Man remanded in 'tongue attack'

A 35-year-old man has been remanded in custody accused of three attacks on women in Lancashire and Cheshire.

One of the victims had part of her tongue bitten off.

Andrew Humphris, of Blundell Street, Blackpool, appeared before magistrates accused of sexual assault, wounding and dangerous driving.

The alleged attacks took place in the early hours of Friday - two in Blackpool, and one on the M6 near Knutsford, Cheshire.

Mr Humphris was arrested in Ipswich, Suffolk, on Friday evening.

He spoke only to confirm his name and address before Blackpool magistrates on Monday and entered no plea.

Reporting restrictions were not lifted and he was remanded to appear at Preston Crown Court on 8 November.
