Air units 'fly' over city centre
Leeds Town Hall
New conditioning units will improve the airflow inside Leeds Town Hall
Air conditioning units the size of small cars will be carried over the roofs of Leeds city centre on Sunday.

The units are being installed at Leeds Town Hall as part of a £4m refurbishment scheme.

The contractors, Ilkley-based Quarmby, have hired an 80-tonne crane to handle the heavyweight project.

Parts of Oxford Street and Calverley Street will be closed from 7am until 4pm while the work is carried out.

The firm said the units would improve the flow of fresh air through the historic building.
