Police hunting the murderer of Hannah Foster are ready to fly to India to bring back the prime suspect.
They want to question a 35-year-old man who fled the country four days after the 17-year-old was abducted close to her home in Portswood, Southampton, on 14 March.
Her body was found two days later in undergrowth in Allington Lane, West End, on the outskirts of Southampton. She had been raped and strangled.
Detectives investigating her murder say they are confident the suspect will be arrested soon.
Six officers working on the Operation Springfield inquiry have already been selected to fly to India once that happens.
The process at present is both a detective one and a paperwork one but we are confident of getting an arrest.

The police are also currently working with the Crown Prosecution Service in preparing a file to apply for the extradition of the suspect.
A Hampshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "We have a team of officers set to fly to India once the suspect is arrested.
"They have had their inoculation injections and are ready to go.
"We are also preparing a file for the extradition of the suspect with the Crown Prosecution Service.
"The process at present is both a detective one and a paperwork one but we are confident of getting an arrest."
The suspect's wife has already been arrested for questioning in relation to the case.
She has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
