Man killed while walking for fuel
A man walking along the road after his car ran out of fuel has been killed in a road accident near Lincoln.

The man, from Metheringham, was walking along the B1189 near the Timberland turn-off at about 1630 GMT on Sunday.

He was involved in a collision with a car and taken to Lincoln County Hospital by air ambulance, where he later died.

It is believed the man was walking along the road because his car, which was towing a caravan, had run out of petrol.

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
