Decision reserved over jet noise
Jet planes
The planes fly over the house when they are coming in to land
Judgment has been reserved in a £9m High Court action brought by the owners of a 17th century house over noise from RAF Harrier jets.

Farmer Darby Dennis, 51, and his 46-year-old wife, Catherine, say the effect of the planes flying over Walcot Hall, near Stamford, Lincolnshire, is "unbearable" and has affected their domestic and commercial activities.

Their claim is founded in common law nuisance and under the Human Rights Act.

It is aimed at securing a declaration of unlawfulness against the Crown, which would stop the flying and result in compensation.

The Ministry of Defence disputes the figures claimed and its liability.

Mr Justice Buckley said that he would give his ruling as soon as possible.
