The parents of murdered teenager Hannah Foster have spoken of their grief at the death of their daughter.
In a statement released by Hampshire police on Tuesday, Trevor Foster, 53, and his wife
Hilary, 46, said Hannah was a kind-hearted girl who had only wanted to help others.
The 17-year-old's body was found in undergrowth at the side of Allington Lane, West End, at 1400 GMT on Sunday.
Police believe she was abducted and killed just minutes from her home in Southampton.
Her parents statement read: "We as a family are devastated by the loss of Hannah.
"She was a warm, kind-hearted 17-year-old girl who could always see the good in others.
'Precious memories'
"She has been taken from us at a time when she was enjoying life to the full and was hoping to follow a career in medicine so that she could help others.
"Hannah's death is a loss to so many people. Nothing can be said or done to bring her back to us but we have our precious memories of Hannah to give us the strength to carry on."
Hannah was last seen as she walked home along Highfield Lane, Portswood, at 2250 GMT on Friday, just half-a-mile from her family home in Grosvenor Road.
A post-mortem examination carried out on Monday revealed that Hannah died of strangulation.
The Home Office pathologist confirmed there was no evidence of sexual assault.
Detectives are continuing to carry out forensic searches of the areas where she disappeared and was found.
