A former vicar from Berkshire has admitted making and possessing pornographic computer images of children.
John Masters, who was the vicar at St John the Evangelist Church in Newbury for ten years, pleaded guilty to four counts of possessing photographs of children.
Appearing before West Berkshire magistrates, the 40-year-old also admitted a further four counts of making indecent images of children.
Masters, who now lives at Dundonald Close in Woolston, Southampton, and is divorced with a son and daughter, will be sentenced at Reading Crown Court at a date yet to be arranged.
Masters, who was granted unconditional bail, was arrested as part of the Operation Ore investigation over alleged internet paedophiles.
During his time as rector, he had been on the board of governors at both Yattendon and Hampstead Norreys primary schools.
