Moor climber dies after fall
A 20-year-old man who was involved in a climbing accident in Devon has died.

Jon Massey, from Bruton in Somerset, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after falling 60 feet (18 metres) from Dewerstone Rock, near Shaugh Prior, on Dartmoor, on 2 March.

He was part of an organised party climbing the rock.

After the fall, first aid was administered to Mr Massey by other climbers in the 10-strong group before he was airlifted by a helicopter from RAF Chivenor.

Mr Massey's parents have paid tribute to their son, saying he was a generous spirited person who was extremely well-liked by all who knew him.

They have also thanked the staff at Derriford's Neurological Intensive Care Unit, the police and helicopter rescue crew from Chivenor.

The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the accident.
