Climber airlifted after fall

A 20-year-old man has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after falling 60ft in a climbing accident.

He was part of an organised party of 20 who who were climbing at Dewerstone Rock near Shaugh Prior on Dartmoor.

Police say the man, an inexperienced climber, has serious injuries.

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed about the accident.

No further details are being released until the injured man's relatives have been informed.
