Woman dies in collision with jeep

A 53-year-old woman was killed
A woman has died after her car collided with a jeep travelling in the opposite direction.

The crash happened in Apuldram, south of Chichester in West Sussex, just after 1700 GMT on Thursday.

Police have confirmed the victim was a 53-year-old woman from Chichester but have not released her name.

The driver of the jeep, a 47-year-old woman from West Wittering in Sussex, was taken to St Richards Hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the Jeep Cherokee was passing a stationary Vauxhall Corsa on the A286 when it collided with an oncoming Nissan Micra.

Sussex Police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident or has any information about it.
