Fans offered celebrities' bed
Lenny Henry
Lenny Henry takes a rest on the celebrity bed
A five star Manchester hotel is raising money for Comic Relief by auctioning off a "bed of the stars".

The bed, in the Lowry Hotel, has been slept on by numerous A-list celebrities including Oasis, Kylie Minogue, Prince and Tom Jones.

Fans can bid for the king size bed from the hotel's penthouse suite on the internet auction site eBay.

The auction begins on Thursday and will be live until 22 February.

The bed will also be accompanied by a framed pillowcase signed by comic Lenny Henry who will host Red Nose Day on 14 March.

The luxurious bed has 20g thread Egyptian cotton sheets, feather pillows, a white Italian bedspread and a charcoal wool blanket.

Murray Thomson, the hotel's director of marketing, said: "We expect that keen fans won't be able to resist the prospect of sharing their idols' sheets and can certainly recommend it for a five-star snooze."
