Road protest over waste plans
Demonstrators
The protest will block the road through the village
Residents of an East Yorkshire village are staging another protest on Tuesday against plans to build a waste recycling plant near their homes.

People living in Swinefleet, near Goole, plan to follow up a recent demonstration by blocking the main road through the village again.

Residents claim that local roads are not adequate for the heavy traffic that would be generated by the plant proposals.

Villagers are also angered by claims the recycling centre will take waste from other areas of the country.

"They don't want to become the dustbin of the north of England," said local councillor Terry Allison.

"In this case it is going to be transported in from Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and the north of England."
