Ozzy brought me back from dead
Ozzy Osbourne

A Cumbrian father-of-three has changed his name to Ozzy Osbourne after the outrageous rocker "brought him back from the dead".

The then Robert Jacques fell into a coma after hitting a tree in a motorbike accident and medics feared he would not recover.

But his mother Lillian came to the rescue when she played tapes of her son's childhood idol.

After nearly three months in a coma Mr Jacques, 35, came round and was out of hospital just days later.

And in a special tribute to the wildman of rock he decided to change his name to Ozzy Osbourne.

The new Mr Osbourne, of Barrow, Cumbria, said: "It was recognising his voice that did the trick.

"If it wasn't for him who knows what would have happened to me?

"I'm always going to be grateful to Ozzy and my mum of course."

Mr Osbourne has been a massive fan of the real Ozzy since he was a child.

He has every record the maniac of metal has released, plus a host of videos, tapes and CDs featuring the former Black Sabbath frontman.

Mr Osbourne says he was rarely addressed as Robert, even before his name change by Deed Poll.

He said: "I've always been known as Ozzy. People used to call me it at school. We do behave the same, but perhaps without as much swearing."

Mr Osbourne has three children, Shane, eight, Tai, five, and two-year-old Kyle.

He added: "My eldest Shane is also a big fan of Ozzy."
