Nurse mistreated and 'failed' patients
The NMC will decide whether to take action
A nurse from Suffolk mistreated and neglected her patients, an inquiry has ruled.
Ten allegations against Samantha Knight, from Diss, were proven at a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) conduct committee hearing on Tuesday. Amongst the allegations there were five accusations that she "failed to promote the interests of patients". Ms Knight was also found to have force-fed an elderly patient by holding her head back and pouring milk into her mouth. A spokeswoman for the NMC said a decision is yet to be made on whether the allegations constitute misconduct and/or if any action will be taken against the nurse. The allegations relate to when Ms Knight was at the Patrick Stead Hospital in Halesworth and Beccles District War Memorial Hospital between August 1999 and March 2001.
