Tasawar Hussain
Mr Hussain was shot while chasing thieves
Shoppers in Bradford could hold the key to the murder of a man as he tried to stop a robbery, police believe.

Tasawar Hussain, 36, was shot dead after he followed offenders in his car.

On Monday, more than 100 police officers took to the streets at the same time as Mr Hussain was shot on 27 January.

Detective Superintendent Allan Doherty said more than 1,700 people were questioned, of which six may hold "vital information".

Mr Hussain, 36, whose widow is expecting their second child, had driven after two men who stole cash from a travel agents in Lumb Lane, Manningham.

When Mr Hussain went to approach the robbers' getaway car in Jowett Street, he was shot in the chest and died later in Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Mr Doherty told BBC Look North: "We do think we have found some very useful witnesses from the exercise.

"People don't realise that they hold vital information.

"Just seeing someone running past is very important to us."
