Cathedral marks Canaries' centenary
Past and present players will be at the cathedral
Norwich Cathedral will be decked out in yellow and green on Thursday night for a thanksgiving service to mark the centenary of the city's football club.
Fans will join director Delia Smith and past and present players for the special service, led by both the Dean and the Bishop of Norwich. The cathedral choir will lead the congregation in a rendition of the Canaries' theme tune, On The Ball City. The Dean of Norwich, the Very Reverend Stephen Platten, said : "At its very best sport actually helps peole get outside themselves, forget themselves and look at a wider world. "It's true for the team because you never have a good football outfit if they aren't a good team, therefore they need to work with each other. "It's true for the fans, who go down there and somehow they're in a different world." The service begins at 1800 GMT, and fans are asked to wear yellow and green.
