Adnams begins £2.5m expansion
Adnams brewery in Southwold
New liquor tanks and vats arrive in Southwold
A £2.5m expansion of the Adnams brewery in Suffolk is under way.

Two huge liquor tanks and new fermentation vessels are being installed to help increase the brewery's capacity by one-third to 3,000 barrels a week.

The brewery said the expansion will not affect the beer's distinctive taste.

Mike Powell-Evans, head brewer, said: "We're completely confident that our beer will retain its character and its characteristics."

He said the new equipment will be in place for the expected summer peak in demand.

Some roads were closed near the Southwold brewery on Tuesday to allow for the movement of equipment.
