Man injured in pub shooting
Nottinghamshire police
Nottinghamshire police are facing a rise in guncrime
An investigation is under way after a man was shot outside a pub in Nottinghamshire.

The incident happened just after 2000 GMT on Saturday in Calverton.

Police say a 21-year-old man was leaving the Cherry Tree Pub on Collyer Road in the village when the shooting happened.

Two men in a people carrier vehicle fired a number of shots, and the man was hit three times in the leg.

He was taken to the Queens Medical Centre for treatment.

The area around Collyer Road and Mews Lane was cordoned off while an initial search took place.

Detectives say the two men are described as white, aged between 20 and 25 and were wearing black hats.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the police.
