Two arrested over catapult death
The student died after being fired from a catapult
Two men have been arrested after a student died when a human catapult stunt went wrong.
Kostadine Yankov died after he was flung 100 feet through the air at the Middlemoor Water Park in Woolavington near Bridgwater, Somerset. The 19-year-old sustained serious injuries and later died in hospital. A 44-year-old man from Bridgwater, Somerset, and a 31-year-old man from Burnham-on-Sea, have been arrested. Both men have been given police bail pending further inquiries. The huge wooden catapult was designed to hurl a person on to a safety net. But the Bulgarian-born student crashed to the ground before reaching the net. Mr Yankov had been studying at Wadham College, Oxford, at the time of the incident.
