Kit 'price-fixing' inquiry continues
Graphic showing football strips
Manchester United football club has been told to put forward its case in an investigation into replica kit.

The club is one of 10 companies, including Heywood-based JD Sports and JJB Sports, in Wigan, being looked at by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT).

They are accused of entering into illegal agreements to fix the price of the Umbro replica kits.

The other firms involved are Umbro, Sports Soccer, Allsports, Blacks Leisure Group, Sports Connection, Sportsetail and the Football Association.

Additional evidence

The OFT has decided not to continue its action against Debenhams.

It announced in May that it was to take action against the companies, which were then offered a chance to respond.

The OFT sent out additional evidence about the alleged agreements.

The companies now have a chance to make further representation, before the OFT makes its final decision next year.
