Scary behaviour message
Conference speaker Scary Guy

A heavily tattooed American evangelist has addressed a North Yorkshire conference on anti-social behaviour.

The campaigner, who calls himself The Scary Guy, was at the Northern Housing Consortium's annual conference in Harrogate.

He is touring the UK trying to change social attitudes.

The high-profile two-day conference on housing and social policy is attended by local government officers and police.

Refreshing message

The Scary Guy is accompanied on his tour by his wife, a classical pianist and harpist who plays for the audience before the address.

John Moralee, the chief executive of the Northern housing Consortium told BBC News Online: "He questions people's understanding.

"He is passing on his message to other practitioners in the field."

"We all have the same task. His unique approach and the lessons he has learned have been refreshing and challenging."
