Arctic moves south for Bond
Pierce Brosnan met schoolchildren in Gloucestershire
A small part of Gloucestershire played home to the world's most famous secret agent during filming of the latest James Bond film - Die Another Day.
Several scenes featuring the super-hero being chased across the frozen tundra of the Arctic in an Aston Martin, were actually filmed at the disused RAF base at Upper Rissington. Newly-formed Blue Egg Studios took over the site in February, with filming taking place there from April to July. The film's gala screening will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London, in front of the Queen, on Monday evening.
"Many of the schoolchildren from the area came along to meet the cast and Pierce Brosnan was superb with them. "My seven-year-old son came along and watched a car chase. He couldn't believe it and became rooted to the spot. "Afterwards Pierce asked him what his name was and when he said, 'my name's James', Pearce said, 'that's my name as well'. "He couldn't believe that he had actually met James Bond."
