Old Bailey trial for Soham suspects
Maxine Carr and Ian Huntley
Maxine Carr and Ian Huntley will be tried in London
The trial of the two people charged in connection with the disappearance and deaths of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman will take place at the Old Bailey in London, a judge has ruled.

Mr Justice Moses, sitting at Norwich Crown Court, said the trial of Maxine Carr and her boyfriend Ian Huntley should be moved out of East Anglia because of concerns that jurors might have links to strands of the police investigation.

No date has yet been set for the trial.

School caretaker Mr Huntley, 28, is accused of murdering the two girls and of conspiring with Ms Carr to pervert the course of justice.

Ms Carr, 25, a former teaching assistant at the girls' school in Soham, is charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, both 10, disappeared from their home town of Soham on 4 August.

Their bodies were found in a ditch at Lakenheath, Suffolk, on 17 August.

Mr Huntley is being held at Woodhill Prison, near Milton Keynes, pending the trial.

Ms Carr is being held at Holloway prison, north London, pending the trial.

Neither have yet entered pleas to the allegations.
