Police name sub-station crash victims
The remains of the car on the back of a police low-loading lorry
The car was the only vehicle involved in the crash
Police have named two of the three people who were killed when a car hit an electricity sub-station.

The car crashed on the A666 Blackburn Road in Astley Bridge, Greater Manchester, at about 0230 GMT on Tuesday.

Ricardo Czutkowna, from Tonge Moor, Bolton, Craig Dawson, 20, and the 32-year-old driver, who has not been named, died in the crash.

Police said the car they were travelling in was virtually unrecognisable, but later confirmed it was a Porsche 944.

Vital witnesses

The car hit a bus shelter, before crashing into the sub-station and bursting into flames.

An appeal has been made to trace the drivers and passengers of a dark green Vauxhall Vectra and a dark coloured Ford Mondeo who may have witnessed the crash.

Sergeant Barry Fairclough said: "They were just seen to be travelling in the same direction as the Porsche at the time.

"They passed the scene of the accident and were seen to do a u-turn and stopped nearby. It is possible they may have seen something vital."

The A666 was closed for almost six hours following the crash.
