Curfew off 10m lotto winner
Lottery winner Michael Carroll
Michael Carroll wants to get away from the media
A young offender from Norfolk who won 9.7m on the lottery has had his overnight curfew lifted so he can escape media attention.

Michael Carroll, 19, from Magdalen near Downham Market, collected his winner's cheque on Monday wearing an electronic tag.

In March Mr Carroll, who admits his court appearances are "countless", had been ordered by magistrates at King's Lynn to obey an overnight curfew after resisting arrest and being drunk and disorderly.

The curfew is due to end in December.

Two days after collecting his millions, the same court agreed to an application to lift the curfew until next Tuesday so that the teenager can get away from the publicity over his lottery win.

Mr Carroll has been living with his uncle and aunt, Stephen and Kelly Muncaster, after serving two months in a young offenders' institution earlier this year for offences including criminal damage.

He has said he wants to buy a house to share with his girlfriend Sandra Aiken, also 19, who is expecting their first child on Christmas Day.
