Hunt for masked robbers

Police hunting a masked gang who raided a shop at gunpoint have appealed for witnesses to the incident.

A man and a woman, who were not together, left the Alldays store in Basingstoke seconds before the raid and may have seen two of the suspects come in.

The two robbers threatened the shopkeeper with a handgun, forcing him to hand over £200 worth of cigarettes and hundreds of pounds in cash at 2130 GMT on 31 October.

They fled the shop and were joined by a third masked man waiting outside in Anstey Close.

'Vicious attack'

All three then ran off towards Foyle Park.

A spokesman for Hampshire Police said: "This was a vicious attack and we would like any of the witnesses to come forward, especially the two people who left the shop.

"We know that the tallest robber wore a skeleton Halloween mask and was 6ft 1ins. The shorter man was 5ft 6ins tall and wore a Scream mask."
