Police are appealing for witnesses to the incidents
Two boys are seriously ill in hospital after an accident with a car, which then crashed into a shop.

A six-year-old boy was hit by the BMW on the pavement at Clare Road, Levenshulme, Greater Manchester, at about 1640 GMT on Monday.

The car then hit a 12-year-old boy on a bike, before crashing into a shop.

The driver of the car was trapped inside and had to be cut free by firefighters.

Both the boys were taken to Manchester Royal Infirmary suffering serious head injuries.

The six-year-old boy was walking with his mother when the accident happened.

The BMW carried on along Clare Road and hit a shop on the junction of Stockport Road and Crayfield Road.

The driver, from Longsight, was taken to hospital, suffering a broken leg and facial injuries.

Officers are appealing for anyone who saw the two accidents to contact the South Manchester traffic unit.
