Policeman held on to speeding car
Court graphic
A driver who sped off with a policeman hanging on to his car as it reached speeds of 60mph has been convicted of dangerous driving.

Baldav Singh, 24, of Spring Road, Kempston, Bedsfordshire, steered the Rover with one hand and with the other punched PC James Frossell.

Finally he braked hard and PC Frossell was thrown on to the road.

The officer escaped with only minor cuts and bruises.

Bodily harm

At Luton Crown Court, Singh was found guilty of dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and causing actual bodily harm.

He was cleared of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

Judge Geoffrey Breen remanded Singh in custody.

He will be sentenced next week.

The court had heard of a 25-mile car chase at speeds of up to 110mph beginning in Bedford and ending in Northamptonshire.
