Grenade found on rail line
Police tape
The tunnel has been sealed off and trains diverted
A live grenade has been found in a railway tunnel in Wiltshire.

Workman found the unexploded device in the Box Tunnel near Corsham at 1630 BST on Wednesday.

It is believed to be a US army issue grenade from World War II.

The tunnel has been closed in both directions causing the cancellation of services between Bath and Chippenham.

Trains serving Bristol and other stations on the main Paddington to south Wales line are being diverted while bomb disposal experts attend the scene.

The workers who found the grenade were felling trees near the tunnel entrance.

British Transport police are investigating the find and a spokesperson for Railtrack said they expected the tunnel to be closed for a few hours only.
