Men seen near Milly site
Police prepare to search the woodland site
Police examined the woodland site for days
A man carrying a shovel was seen near to where the body of Amanda "Milly" Dowler was found, police have said.

He is one of two men being sought for questioning about the murder of the Surrey schoolgirl, whose decomposed body was found two weeks ago in secluded woodland in Yateley Heath Forest, Hampshire.

Police said the man with a shovel was seen in Yateley Heath forest on 24 March, three days after Milly vanished.

He was wearing a thigh-length, green parka-like jacket with a hood and was spotted near the Ely pub on the A30.

The scene of the crime
Milly's body was found in Yateley Heath Forest
A second man was sighted near a roundabout on the exit route from Elvetham Heath Estate going towards Ancells Farm Estate, shortly after 1100 BST on either 27 or 28 March.

He was white, about 30 to 40 years old and approximately six feet tall with dark, neatly cut hair.

He was wearing a short black leather coat, black trousers and black shoes.

He had mud on his clothing, particularly his jacket, and there was a rolled up item on the ground nearby.

Makeshift camps

"These people could be crucial witnesses," a police spokeswoman said.

Surrey Police have also confirmed that two makeshift camps have been found near where the teenager's body was discovered.

Again, they stressed these were not linked with the murder, but said any local people, travellers or children who may have used the camp might have seen something.

Amanda, known as Milly to friends and relatives, disappeared as she walked home from Walton-on-Thames railway station, Surrey, on 21 March.

Her body was found in the Yateley Heath forest on 20 September.
