The grieving parents of murdered schoolgirl Amanda Dowler have visited the woodland site where the teenager's remains were found.

Bob and Sally Dowler spent 30 minutes at Yateley Heath Woods, Minley, near Fleet, Hampshire on Thursday afternoon.

"They visited the hut that has been up set for tributes to Milly and read messages that have been left in the book of condolences," a police spokesman said.

They were accompanied by the officer in charge of the investigation, Detective Chief Superintendent Craig Denholm.

The couple were then shown the spot where their daughter's remains were found.

Milly's sister, Gemma, 16, was not present.

Detectives are still scouring the site for any clue which may lead to the killer of the 13-year-old.

Milly disappeared walking home from the train station in Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, six months ago.

The search could last for weeks, police say.

More than 100 hundred officers from the Hampshire and Surrey Police forces are involved in the investigation, with many sited at Yateley Heath forest.
