New bridge boosts inner-city area
The bridge over Mancunian Way
The £1.3m bridge is built in a horse-shoe shape
A new landmark has appeared in Manchester as part of plans to regenerate a run down inner-city area.

The £1.3m footbridge spans the busy Mancunian Way ring road linking the city centre with Hulme.

It is hoped it will help improve Hulme and nearby Moss Side by encouraging more people to live there.

The bridge, one of Europe's largest steel and timber structures, is the first structure of its kind to use a sustainable hardwood from Brazil, called Cumaru.
