Police car stolen from house
Police in car
The police officer's car keys were stolen
Three men have been arrested after an unmarked police car was stolen in Hull.

The car - complete with with sirens and blue lights - was stolen on Sunday from outside the home of Humberside Police Chief Constable David Westwood.

The car keys were stolen from inside Mr Westwood's house.

The dark blue BMW 530 diesel car was found the next evening.

Evidence check

A woman reported the car's registration details when she became suspicious of a man who asked for directions.

Police then found the abandoned car at Sophia Close, Hull, about six miles (10 kilometres) from where it was stolen.

Three men who approached the vehicle were arrested.

The men, aged 18, 21 and 37, all from Hull, are being questioned at the Queens Gardens and Priory Road police stations.

The car will be checked for evidence before it is returned to Mr Westwood.
