Man in court over police deaths
Leayon Davi Dudley, 38
Leayon Davi Dudley was remanded in custody
A 38-year-old Birmingham man has appeared in court accused of the murder of two police officers on the A42 in Leicestershire.

Leayon Davi Dudley had been arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder and causing death by dangerous driving.

At Loughborough magistrates court on Saturday, he spoke only to confirm his name, address and confirmed that he understood the charges.

Police constables Bryan Moore, 39, and Andrew Munn, 37, were killed near Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Thursday.

They were laying down a "stinger" device to stop a van which had been pursued by police across three counties.

The van struck their patrol car which then burst into flames.

Mr Dudley, of Oakhurst Road in the Acocks Green area of Birmingham was remanded in custody.

He will appear before the same court on Monday.
