Machete 'attack' filmed on CCTV
Court graphic
A Lincolnshire restaurant worker was caught on camera, attacking a man with a machete, a court has heard.

Shibbir Ahmed, from West Street, Boston, is accused of attempting to murder 24-year-old Brett Collier outside the town's Flames nightclub.

The prosecution at Lincoln Crown Court claim Mr Collier's hands and arms were injured as he tried to protect himself from five blows allegedly aimed at his head.

Mr Ahmed denies a charge of attempted murder.

Two knives

The court was told that fork-lift truck driver Mr Collier had allegedly bullied Mr Ahmed and a 15-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Patrick Thomas, prosecuting, said Mr Ahmed and the teenager launched their attack after retrieving two knives from the nearby Rose of Bengal restaurant.

Mr Thomas said the attack was filmed by CCTV.

The pair were later arrested at a flat above the restaurant, and two knives were found behind a freezer.

The jury heard that Mr Ahmed and the teenager had only intended to "frighten"their victim.

Both have denied attempted murder, and an alternative charge of wounding with intent and having an offensive weapon.

The trial continues.
