In pictures: 'Struggling' driver's route
Described as a possible breakthrough in the hunt for Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, a taxi driver has told police he saw a man struggling with two children in a car he was following on the night the girls disappeared.
Below are images from the route taken by the two cars. The sighting began on the A142 at Downfields roundabout outside Soham and continued until a turn off down Studlands Park Avenue on the outskirts of Newmarket.
The taxi driver says he first spotted the car at 1900 BST near the Q8 garage in Soham
The route of the A142 then took them through Fordham village
The taxi driver stayed behind the car for several minutes as they headed towards Newmarket
At one point they crossed over the A14, which takes through traffic past Newmarket
The cars continued into Newmarket on the A142
It was at this roundabout that the two cars split up
The taxi driver continued on the road into Newmarket; the green car turned down Studlands Park Avenue
Police are now extending their search for the girls to the Studlands housing estate
