'Rare' albino hedgehogs found
The hedgehogs are unable to go back into the wild
A pair of rare albino hedgehogs has been discovered in Derbyshire.
But even more unusually, the hedgehogs were born in the same litter. The fair-skinned creatures are now being cared for at the Prickly's Patch Rescue Centre at Riddings. Jeanette Harvey, who works at the centre, told the BBC's East Midlands Today programme that they would be unable to go back into the wild. She said: "These are the first albinos I have seen in seven years doing hedgehog rescue. "They are quite rare and are all the more unusual because we have two in the same litter. "But they are more vulnerable than ordinary hedgehogs and won't be able to go back into the wild so they will be going into a secure garden."
