A crash involving a minibus in Dorset has left 16 elderly passengers injured.

The group were travelling in the bus near Wool when the crash happened on Monday.

The accident, near Bovington Camp, involved three vehicles.

The group, from the Rosebury Park Baptist church in Bournemouth, was travelling to Weymouth for a day out.

A police spokesman said none of the injuries were life-threatening.

Hospital treatment

He said the air ambulance and a fleet of seven ambulances attended the scene.

Ten of the injured were taken to Poole hospital and six to Dorset County hospital.

A 19-year-old, heavily pregnant woman, who witnessed the crash, was also treated for severe shock at Poole hospital.

An investigation has begun into the cause of the crash.
