Teenager loses limbs in train accident
The teenager fell between the train and platform
A teenager has lost a leg and most of an arm after falling between a moving train and the platform at a railway station in Hampshire.
The 18-year-old had been running along the platform waving off friends when he slipped and fell onto the track at Bedhampton near Havant. Emergency services say their efforts to reach the teenager were hampered by a group of drunken youths fighting on the train and the platform. The victim, who has not been named, is in a stable condition in hospital following the accident on Friday. 'Terrible injuries' A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "The victim and two others were waiting on the platform and speaking to friends who remained aboard the train. "They then followed the train along the platform as it began to move. "The victim then ran alongside the train but tripped falling between the platform and the moving train. "The victim suffered terrible injuries, losing his right leg and right hand in the accident. "He was rushed to hospital where staff were unable to save either limb. "The victim lost most of his right arm as well as his right leg below the knee."
