Former East 17 star jailed
Brian Harvey
Harvey was a member of boy band East 17
Former East 17 singer Brian Harvey has been jailed for 56 days for breaching an injunction taken out by his estranged wife.

Harvey, 27, from St John's Road, Walthamstow, east London, was jailed at the Royal Courts of Justice.

A spokeswoman for Essex Police said: "He was arrested having attended Loughton police station in Essex by appointment.

"He was jailed for breaching an injunction which was a non-molestation order taken out by his estranged wife Natasha."

Harvey came to prominence as part of the hugely successful boy band East 17, who had a string of hits in the early 1990s.

However, he was sacked from the band in 1997 after he claimed in an interview that drugs made "better people".

In December 2001 he was attacked as he left a nightclub in Nottingham by four men and required plastic surgery for a head wound.
