Two more charged over Millwall riot

Two teenagers have appeared before a youth court charged with riot following violence after a Millwall football match.

The two 17-year-olds were charged on Tuesday bringing the number of those arrested in connection with the disturbances to 18.

Almost 100 police officers were injured in the trouble after the club's Division One play-off against Birmingham City, which the West Midlands team won with a last-minute goal.

A number of police horses were also hurt in the fighting on 2 May, near Millwall's ground, the New Den, in south London.

Scotland Yard said two people were arrested on Monday after voluntarily attending a local police station.

A pipefitter from Welling, in Kent, and a print finisher from Bermondsey in London, appeared at Camberwell Youth Court on Tuesday.

Both were charged with riot and released on bail to 30 May.

Two other men appeared before magistrates in London last week charged with riot.
