Mr Morley's trademark glasses were stolen
Actor Ken Morley, who played Reg Holdsworth in Coronation Street, has been attacked near his home in Lancashire.

A group of up to 16 teenagers spotted the star and attacked him, stealing his trademark white-rimmed glasses.

Mr Morley was not injured in the incident and later recovered his glasses.

Street cobbles

Mr Morley's character, Weatherfield store manager Reg Holdsworth, became a cult figure while in the soap.

He left the cobbles of Coronation Street nearly seven years ago

. A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said they were investigating an incident.

She said: "Police were called just after midnight on Saturday 27 April when it was reported that a man had been assaulted by a group of youths in Chorley Old Road, Whittle-le-Woods.
