Family to live in Harrods' window
Harrods
A 'family' will become shop dummies for a week
Auditions are taking place to find a "family" of four to live in the windows of Harrods for six days.

The hopefuls will parade before judges to win the chance to have their every move watched by window shoppers and broadcast on the internet.

The castings are taking place on Monday where 40 people will audition to eat and sleep in the window of the store in Knightsbridge, London.

They have been selected from hundred of applicants.

Public vote

The group will be whittled down to just 12 by the end of the day, three candidates for each position - mother, father, son and daughter.

It will then be up to the public to vote for their favourite characters by logging on to the dedicated internet family website.

The final four will take their places in Harrods' windows from 20 May to 25 May.

Bullet-proof glass

The stunt is being put on by LG Electronics, which manufactures electronic appliances.

Also on Monday, a high-security operation is being carried out because of the store's latest offer - a pair of diamond and platinum shoes valued at $1m (£700,000).

A bullet-proof cabinet has been built to house the shoes which have been called the most expensive pair in the world.

The shoes have 464 diamonds set in pure platinum and were designed by Stuart Weitzman.
