GP questioned over abuse claims
New Scotland Yard
Dr Healy was arrested as he arrived home from holiday
A doctor has been arrested after allegations he abused boys after sedating them in his London surgery.

Metropolitan police officers arrested Dr Timothy Healy, 56, at Gatwick Airport as he returned from a holiday.

It follows a 10-month investigation by Scotland Yard's paedophile unit, police confirmed.

He is alleged to have carried out the assaults after sedating the boys, aged from 12 to mid-20s, with injections and to have taken indecent photographs of the youngsters.

Stupefying drugs

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said a 56-year-old man was being held at a central London police station on three specimen allegations.

In a statement, the spokesman said: "The arrest was in connection with allegations of indecent assault on a 14-year-old boy contrary to Section 15 of the Sexual Offences Act 1956.

"He is also being interviewed on suspicion of taking indecent photographs of a child under the age of 16, contrary to Section One of the Protection of Children Act 1958.

"He is also being held on suspicion of administering a stupefying drug with intent to enable him to commit an indictable assault, namely indecent assault.

"We are not prepared to comment further at this stage."
