Police have recovered a BMW convertible robbed at gunpoint from a businesswoman as she parked it in her drive.

The car-jacking took place after the 38-year-old woman got back to her house in Yateley, Hampshire, just before 0001 GMT on Sunday.

The woman had been to Reading and was parking the £20,000 Z3 sports car when the robbery took place.

A Hampshire Police spokeswoman said the vehicle was found in Hackney, London, but officers are still hunting the two men who carried out the robbery.

Pistol threat

The men are described as black, smartly-dressed and in their early 20s - one spoke with a London accent.

Police said the woman pulled into the driveway of her home when the two men approached her car.

One opened the passenger door and got into the vehicle.

"The victim believes one of the men was holding a pistol," said police.

The woman was told to get out and the offenders then drove off.

Meanwhile detectives are hunting four armed car-jackers who fired a shot as they robbed a man of his VW Golf in north-east London, on Sunday morning.

William Wallace, 37, was sitting in his car near Snaresbrook Road, Woodford, when three men jumped in.

He was punched in the face and then a fourth man fired a gunshot into the ground next to the car.

The robbers, all black and wearing hooded tops and caps and aged in their late teens or early 20s, then tried to rob him of cash but he managed to escape.
