Family's verdict on daughter's death
Debra Savage, Morgan's mother
Morgan's mother tends her grave every day
The family of a Nottingham schoolgirl who died after an overdose of painkillers, have been speaking about why she may have taken her own life.

The body of 13-year-old Morgan Musson was discovered at her home in Stockhill Lane in the Basford area last November.

Tests showed an overdose of painkillers in her blood.

Although a coroner recorded an open verdict, her family said Morgan had been bullied and taunted at a previous school because of her height - she was 6ft tall.

Her grandmother, Pat Wadsley said everyone had suffered, particularly Morgan's mother, Debra Savage.

"I wouldn't want to go through this ever again and see my daughter change from the girl she was to what she is now.

"I don't think she'll ever get over Morgan, ever."

Mrs Savage believes her daughter may have been upset by the jail sentence imposed on her father for drugs offences.

Mrs Savage visits her daughter's grave every day, telling her about family news and even delivering a birthday cake.

"I find peace when I've been here, because I know when I've been here, she's back at home with me."

The night before her death, Morgan had argued with her best friend.

One of her friends, Gina Digpal, joked: "She smiled a lot and she talked a lot and she always used to get us in trouble."

But the family believe too little was done to stop the bullying at her previous school which they say ended only when she left.

At her new school, Dayncourt School at Radcliffe-on-Trent, Morgan had settled in well but was said to be worried about her former tormentors renewing their bullying.

Nottinghamshire coroner Dr Nigel Chapman recorded an open verdict, saying he could not be sure that Morgan had intended to take her life.
