Open verdict over teen's death
The teenager had taken painkillers
A coroner has recorded an open verdict into the death of a 13-year-old girl from Nottingham.
Morgan Musson, who had taken a fatal dose of painkillers, was found in her bed at home on Stockhill Lane in Basford last November. Her mother, Debra Savage, 35, claimed her daughter - who was six-feet tall - had been taunted and bullied by girls at her former school over her height. At the Nottingham inquest into her death on Wednesday, the coroner said he could not be sure she intended to die. Initial tests Morgan had moved to Dayncourt School at Radcliffe-on-Trent where she had settled in well - but still spoke of her fear of her former tormentors. Her family has claimed not enough was done to protect her from the bullies. At the inquest, Nottinghamshire coroner Dr Nigel Chapman said initial tests showed Morgan had high levels of painkillers in her blood.
