Child porn seized in raid
West Midlands Police headquarters
The raid was a joint police and customs operation
Police have seized computer equipment containing child pornography after a raid on a house in Birmingham.

Officers from West Midlands Police paedophile unit along with the Customs and Excise unit also seized DVDs and videos containing adult pornography.

The raid was part of a joint operation looking into the importation, distribution and possession of pornography and the making and distribution of indecent images of children.

It is believed the material was being sent from other parts of Europe for distribution in the UK.

In total 50 DVDs and 100 videos were seized at the house in Weoley Castle in the early hours of Wednesday

Computer equipment containing indecent images of children was also taken.

A police spokeswoman said: "It is believed the DVDs were being sent from Europe and converted to tape for sale in the UK market."

A 48-year-old man was arrested and has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
