CCTV clue to missing student
CCTV footage shows Miss Song in Victoria coach station
Police investigating the disappearance of a Korean student in the UK have released CCTV footage of one of her final journeys.
In Hea Song, 22, was reported missing on 18 December - her last known contact with friends or family was on 7 December. Detectives have released footage of her taken shortly before she boarded a York-bound coach at Victoria station, central London, on 16 November. They are trying to detail her final weeks and hope the CCTV film could jog people's memories about the young woman.
Miss Song was staying at Augusta House in Augusta Street, Docklands, in east London, while studying at Guildhall University. She last spoke to her family on 4 December and to a friend on 7 December, when she told him she was calling on her mobile phone from near Tower Bridge. She caught the 2310 GMT coach to York from Victoria on 16 November, arriving in York at 0410 GMT on 17 November. She stayed in York for about 10 hours before travelling back to Victoria - police want to know why she was in the city. Sunburn marks Their CCTV footage of Miss Song shows her getting money from a cash machine just moments before boarding the York-bound coach. Detective Chief Inspector Vic Rae said: "We are extremely anxious to trace anyone who may have spoken to Miss Song on the coach to York or when she returned to London Victoria. "We would also like to hear from anyone who may know why she had visited the city and what she did while there. "Mr and Mrs Song have had no contact with their daughter since 4 December 2001 and are now desperate for anyone who knows her whereabouts to come forward." Miss Song is described as being of Oriental appearance, 5ft 4in tall, slim with brown eyes and dark shoulder-length hair. She also has noticeable sunburn marks on her shoulders.
