Police continue to quiz terror suspect
Map of London
Detectives are continuing to interview a 30-year-old man in London who was arrested under the Terrorism Act.

The arrest came after a request from the FBI in America was followed up, according to Scotland Yard.

A BBC correspondent said the man was being questioned in connection with the 11 September attacks in New York and Washington.

The man was arrested at 1000 GMT on Wednesday at a house in Tooting, south London, by officers from the Metropolitan Police Anti-Terrorist Branch.

He was taken to Paddington Green police station in central London for questioning.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said on Thursday that the man was still being held.

The arrest was made under Section 40 of the Terrorism Act 2000, which relates to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
